The Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region Drug Administration conducted unannounced inspections of two licensed cosmetics manufacturers in August 2019, as part of its 2019 Cosmetics Supervision Work Plan. These inspections, based on the "Key Points for Cosmetic Production License Inspection," aimed to ensure regulatory compliance.Guangxi Huanzhu Marine Biotechnology Co., Ltd. was inspected on August 27, 2019. The primary finding was that the company had suspended production since July 2017 due to market issues, with no manufacturing activities occurring. The administration mandated that Guangxi Huanzhu must apply for and pass a supervisory inspection to confirm compliance before any official resumption of production.On August 26, 2019, Guangxi Mingou Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. underwent inspection. Numerous significant violations were identified, despite no production taking place that day. Issues included: improper storage and expiration of disinfectants; poor housekeeping; inadequate environmental controls such as high humidity and temperature in storage areas (raw material, inner packaging, finished product warehouses) and mixing rooms, often lacking proper ventilation or monitoring equipment. Furthermore, material management was deficient, with raw materials lacking outbound records, unclear zoning, and improper storage of packaging materials. The company was ordered to rectify all identified deficiencies within a specified timeframe and submit a comprehensive rectification report to the regulatory authority.
