FDA 483 - Delta Air Lines, Inc. - February 02, 2011

On February 2, 2011, the FDA issued a Form 483 to Delta Airlines Inc., located at 1775 Aviation Blvd, Atlanta, GA 30354, following inspections conducted on January 26, 27, and February 2, 2011. The inspection was of an aircraft conveyance, and the report was issued to Mike C. Ashley, Program Manager of Regulatory Compliance.

The sole observation noted was that "Not all galleys and places where food is prepared, served, or stored are clean and free from flies, rodents, and other vermin." Specific instances included: 1. Approximately 8-11 apparent rodent excreta pellets found above the right door panel in the forward galley (G1) of a Boeing 767-400 aircraft, above where food is prepared. 2. Approximately 10-20 apparent rodent excreta pellets found above the left door panel in the forward galley of the same Boeing 767-400 aircraft, also above where food is prepared. 3. Approximately 9-15 apparent rodent excreta pellets found on the right aisle of the aircraft over seats C3-C7. 4. In the middle cross-over galley (G2), numerous apparent rodent excreta pellets were found in three ceiling panel areas directly over a food and drink storage area.
