China NMPA Drug Inspection - Anguo Lulutong Traditional Chinese Medicine Pieces Co., Ltd. - Chinese herbal medicine slices

The Shandong Provincial Food and Drug Administration announced on July 5, 2018, the discovery of quality deficiencies in 13 batches of medicinal products, following inspections by seven drug testing institutions. The announcement, issued as No. 77, 2018 (Issue No. 7, 2018), details that two batches of drugs from two companies, including Shanghai Pukang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., were found to be substandard. Additionally, eleven batches of traditional Chinese medicine decoction pieces from eleven companies, including Anguo Putianhe Traditional Chinese Medicine Pieces Co., Ltd., also failed quality inspection. In response, municipal food and drug administrations have implemented immediate control measures, including sealing, seizing, suspending sales, and recalling the affected products. Regulatory cases have been initiated against the implicated manufacturers and sampled units in accordance with applicable laws. The Shandong Provincial Food and Drug Administration has instructed local authorities to enhance oversight, ensuring that companies investigate the root causes of the quality issues, develop and implement rectification measures, and effectively eliminate potential risks to public health.
