On May 26, 2020, the Shaanxi Provincial Drug Administration published results from its fifth 2020 inspection cycle, identifying eight batches of non-compliant drugs. The manufacturers involved include Anguo Runde Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., Anhui Yuankang Traditional Chinese Medicine Pieces Co., Ltd., Anhui Guanghe Traditional Chinese Medicine Co., Ltd., Shaanxi Kexing Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., Shaanxi Kangchao Kangjian Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., and Baoji Hanfang Traditional Chinese Medicine Pieces Co., Ltd. The inspections revealed several quality violations, specifically regarding physical appearance, identification failures, and general purity inspections. Additional issues involved substandard levels of active ingredients and improper extractive measurements. These findings constitute a failure to meet the standards set by the Chinese Pharmacopoeia 2015 Edition (Parts I, IV, and Supplement 1). In response, the provincial administration has directed municipal and county-level regulatory departments to implement immediate control measures on the affected products. These authorities are currently conducting investigations and pursuing legal actions against the responsible entities to ensure public medication safety and strict adherence to pharmaceutical regulations.
