China NMPA Drug Inspection - Lankao County Ancient and Modern Medicine City - Perilla seeds

The Henan Provincial Food and Drug Administration announced on August 3, 2017, the identification of three batches of substandard drugs, following inspections guided by the Chinese Pharmacopoeia 2015 Edition. Jilin Songliao Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. was cited for one batch of Tongqiao Biyan Tablets (batch number 20161003) failing appearance standards, as determined by the Zhumadian Municipal Food and Drug Inspection Institute. Additionally, Lankao County Gujin Pharmaceutical City was found to have two batches of traditional Chinese medicinal materials, specifically Asarum and Perilla seeds, that were non-compliant due to impurities, according to tests by the Lankao County Food and Drug Inspection Institute. In response, the Henan Provincial Food and Drug Administration has directed relevant authorities to implement control measures including sealing, seizing, and suspending sales of the substandard products. Furthermore, investigations will be conducted to legally penalize the units responsible for sourcing and distributing these non-compliant items, underscoring a commitment to maintaining pharmaceutical quality and public safety.
