The National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) of China issued an announcement on August 18, 2023, identifying 14 batches of non-compliant drugs from 11 companies. This action followed testing by various drug testing institutions. Significant violations include Shandong Ruian Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.'s Tacrolimus Ointment, which failed on related substances, and Zhejiang Jianfeng Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.'s Olopatadine Hydrochloride Eye Drops, found non-compliant for fill volume. Shanxi Kangyi Hengtai Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd.'s Stir-fried Silkworm Pupae exhibited issues with appearance and total ash content. Additionally, nine batches of Stir-fried Jujube Seeds from several companies, including Hebei Runhua Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. and Anhui Xusong Traditional Chinese Medicine Pieces Co., Ltd., failed due to excessive moisture content. The NMPA, acting under the *Drug Administration Law of the People's Republic of China*, has mandated that the implicated companies implement risk control measures, including suspending sales, recalling products, investigating the root causes of non-compliance, and undertaking rectification. Provincial drug regulatory authorities are also required to investigate potential illegal activities and disclose their findings publicly.
