China NMPA Inspection - Chaohu Jianshanhu Ecological Agriculture Yiquyuan Co., Ltd. - April 15, 2022

The Anhui Provincial Drug Administration issued a notice on April 13, 2022, to Chaohu Jianshanhu Ecological Agriculture Yiquyuan Co., Ltd. following an investigation. The primary violation involved the company's Jianshanhu Yiquyuan Lavender Essential Oil (Anhui G Cosmetics Network Registration No. 2021500886). The investigation revealed that the amount of vanillyl butyl ether used in the product's formula exceeded the highest historical usage limit of 1.5% for residual cosmetic ingredients, as specified in the "Catalogue of Used Cosmetic Raw Materials." The company failed to provide additional evidence to justify this deviation, leading to a determination that the situation could endanger human health and posed a safety hazard. Consequently, in accordance with Article 54 of the "Regulations on the Supervision and Administration of Cosmetics," the company was ordered to immediately suspend the production and operation of the aforementioned ordinary cosmetics upon receipt of the notice. The company has the right to apply for administrative reconsideration to the Anhui Provincial People's Government or the National Medical Products Administration within 60 days, or file an administrative lawsuit with the Hefei Railway Transportation Court within 6 months, should they disagree with the decision.
