China NMPA Inspection - Guangzhou Aolai Cosmetics Co., Ltd. - September 30, 2018

An unannounced inspection of Guangzhou Aolai Cosmetics Co., Ltd. was conducted by the Guangdong Provincial Food and Drug Administration on September 13, 2018, based on the 'Key Points for Cosmetics Production License Inspection' framework. The inspection revealed several significant deficiencies across multiple operational areas.

Regarding organization and personnel, the company's quality manager was found to be ineffective in fulfilling their responsibilities. Quality management issues included non-standardized inspection records for finished and semi-finished products, which lacked crucial details such as inspection methods, judgment standards, and equipment used.

Factory and facility problems were identified, specifically a failure to manage the flow of personnel in the production workshop, raising concerns about potential cross-contamination. Material and product management also presented serious violations. The raw material storage area was inadequate for the actual production scale, with some materials stored outside designated areas. Several raw materials (TC107 and TC104) had non-standard labeling, missing supplier, batch, arrival, and expiration dates. Furthermore, raw materials were found mixed with cleaning agents, and disinfection alcohol in the emulsification room was unlabeled.

Finally, production management deficiencies included non-standard batch production records for products like Aowei Moisturizing Silk Facial Mask and Aolai Double Whitening and Freckle Removing Cream Set. As a consequence of these violations, Guangzhou Aolai Cosmetics Co., Ltd. has been ordered and supervised by the Guangzhou Baiyun District Food and Drug Administration to rectify all identified issues within a specified timeframe.
