China NMPA Inspection - Guangzhou Jieyanmei Cosmetics Co., Ltd. - September 28, 2022

The National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) released Announcement No. 47 of 2022 on September 28, 2022, detailing findings from recent unannounced inspections. Three cosmetics companies, Guangzhou Jiaming Cosmetics Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Kaiyang Cosmetics Co., Ltd., and Guangdong Shunde Daini Mei Daily Cosmetics Technology Co., Ltd., were inspected shortly before September 26, 2022. The inspections revealed significant violations of China's regulatory framework, specifically the "Cosmetics Supervision and Management Regulations" and the "Cosmetics Production Quality Management Standards." The companies acknowledged their non-compliance. In response to these issues and to ensure consumer safety, the NMPA has directed the Guangdong Provincial Drug Administration to mandate that these companies immediately suspend all production and operational activities. Additionally, a comprehensive investigation into their practices has been initiated. This action underscores the NMPA's commitment to enforcing strict quality and safety standards within the cosmetics sector.
