China NMPA Inspection - Guangzhou Jieyanmei Cosmetics Co., Ltd. - March 27, 2023

The National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) issued Announcement No. 18 of 2023 on March 27, 2023, detailing the results of recent unannounced inspections. Four cosmetics manufacturers, including Guangzhou Jiaming Cosmetics Co., Ltd., Baicaotang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., Guangzhou Shikai Cosmetics Co., Ltd., and Guangzhou Xusheng Chemical Technology Co., Ltd., were found to be in violation. The inspections revealed non-compliance with the "Cosmetics Supervision and Management Regulations" and the "Cosmetics Production Quality Management Standards." These companies acknowledged the identified problems. In response to ensure public safety, the NMPA has directed the Guangdong Provincial Drug Administration to mandate that the affected companies immediately suspend their production and operational activities. Furthermore, they are required to undertake comprehensive rectification measures to address the identified deficiencies. The NMPA has also initiated further investigations into these matters. This regulatory action underscores the NMPA's commitment to upholding stringent quality and safety standards within the cosmetics industry.
