China NMPA Inspection - Guangzhou Meiya Cosmetics Co., Ltd. - August 03, 2018

Guangzhou Meiruchu Cosmetics Co., Ltd. was subjected to an unannounced inspection by the Guangdong Provincial Food and Drug Administration on July 19, 2018. The inspection, conducted in accordance with the "Guangdong Provincial Food and Drug Administration's Measures for the Administration of Food and Drug Supervision and Inspection," scrutinized the company's production facilities, raw material management, laboratories, and quality documentation for several cosmetic products. Key issues identified included non-standardized raw material labeling, with missing supplier and batch information, and inadequate raw material storage conditions, such as the absence of floor mats and improper storage of specific ingredients like sodium hyaluronate. Furthermore, the sample retention management system was found to be deficient, lacking essential temperature and humidity monitoring in the retention room and proper observation records. Critically, the company failed to provide complete filing documents for domestic non-special-use cosmetic product registrations for the items inspected. As a result, Guangzhou Meiruchu Cosmetics Co., Ltd. has been ordered to promptly rectify these problems, and the case has been transferred to the Guangzhou Junhe Food and Drug Administration for follow-up and enforcement actions.
