China NMPA Inspection - Jiangxi Meilijia Biotechnology Co., Ltd. - December 04, 2019

In October 2019, the Jiangxi Provincial Drug Administration conducted unannounced inspections of eight cosmetic manufacturers to ensure product quality and safety, reinforcing enterprises' primary responsibility in this area. The inspections, carried out between October 17th and 25th, revealed varying degrees of deficiencies across all companies.

Key findings included numerous serious and general/minor defects related to manufacturing practices. For instance, Jiangxi Meilijia Biotechnology Co., Ltd. was cited for 4 serious and 15 general defects, while Jiangxi Zhenmei Biotechnology Co., Ltd. had 4 serious and 14 minor defects. Most companies, including Jiangxi Quanji Biotechnology Co., Ltd., Jiangxi Guangli Biotechnology Co., Ltd., and Jiujiang Jaguar Pharmaceutical & Medical Device Co., Ltd., were required to rectify identified issues and report their compliance status to the administration within 30 days.

More stringent actions were imposed on others. Jiangxi Sanjingtang Industry Co., Ltd. and Fuzhou Liangfen Cosmetics Co., Ltd. were found to have serious defects and were instructed to maintain production suspension until full rectification is completed and verified by the regulatory body. In the most severe case, Jiangxi Heshengyuan Biological Products Co., Ltd. had its Cosmetic Production License cancelled following the discovery of 7 serious defects, underscoring significant non-compliance. These measures highlight the administration's commitment to upholding regulatory standards within the cosmetic manufacturing sector.
