On September 22, 2023, the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) released an announcement detailing the outcomes of recent unannounced inspections, which were conducted on four cosmetics manufacturing enterprises. The companies identified in these inspections include Jiangxi Zhientang Industrial Co., Ltd., Jinfeng Labi Maternal and Infant Products Co., Ltd., Guangdong Kangbaina Biotechnology Co., Ltd., and Jiyan Pharmaceutical Biotechnology (Guangzhou) Co., Ltd. These unannounced inspections, conducted prior to the September 21, 2023, announcement, uncovered significant non-compliance. Specifically, the enterprises were found to be in violation of critical regulatory requirements, including the "Cosmetics Supervision and Management Regulations" and the "Cosmetics Production Quality Management Standards." Each company acknowledged the issues brought to light during their respective inspections. To safeguard public health and uphold product integrity, the NMPA has instructed the provincial drug administrations in Jiangxi and Guangdong to take legal action against the suspected illicit activities. Subsequently, these provincial authorities have issued orders for the affected companies to immediately suspend their production and operational activities, implement comprehensive rectification measures, and are proceeding with formal investigations into the detected breaches.
