China NMPA Product Recall - Disposable medical masks

Anhui Yimeijian Medical Supplies Co., Ltd. has initiated a voluntary Class III recall of its "Disposable Medical Masks" (Registration or Filing No.: 皖械注准20172640057). This action, reported on June 24, 2019, and published by the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) on June 25, 2019, stems from the product's failure to meet established technical requirements. The primary issues identified involve critical safety and performance deficiencies. Specifically, the breaking strength of the mask straps at their connection points to the mask body was found to be inadequate. Additionally, the airflow resistance, which is crucial for gas exchange on both sides of the mask, did not comply with technical standards.
