China NMPA Product Recall - Disposable medical masks

The National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) issued an index notice on April 12, 2021, pertaining to a significant regulatory action initiated by the Chongqing Municipal Drug Administration. This action involved Chongqing Huiquan Medical Device Co., Ltd. following an on-site inspection. The inspection uncovered that a specific batch of the company's disposable medical masks, designated with batch number 20200410, had been manufactured without undergoing the necessary quality inspections. This critical violation was identified as posing a substantial quality and safety risk to consumers.

As a direct consequence, the Chongqing Municipal Drug Administration, operating under the NMPA's comprehensive regulatory oversight, issued an "Order to Recall Notice" on July 16, 2020. This order mandated Chongqing Huiquan Medical Device Co., Ltd. to recall all affected disposable medical masks from the market. This swift regulatory response highlights the commitment to safeguarding public health by ensuring that medical devices comply with stringent production and quality control standards, thereby preventing potential hazards from uninspected products.
