China NMPA Product Recall - Disposable medical masks

Henan Nuokang Medical Device Co., Ltd. initiated a voluntary Level III recall for a specific batch of its disposable medical masks (Batch No. 20200528). The recall was prompted by findings from a sampling report by the Henan Provincial Medical Device Inspection Institute, which identified a critical quality defect: the breaking strength at the connection point between the mask strap and the mask body was substandard. This issue meant the masks did not meet required tensile strength specifications, posing a potential risk to the user's hygiene protection in medical environments.

Operating under the oversight of the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) and its provincial arms, the company promptly took corrective actions. These actions included issuing a formal recall notice and directly contacting customers to retrieve the affected products. As of November 17, 2020, the company had successfully recalled 8,000 of the 122,500 affected masks sold in China, with efforts ongoing to retrieve the remaining units. This recall ensures compliance with product safety standards and protects public health.
