China NMPA Product Recall - Bacterial lysate (trade name: Lanjunjing)

Guangdong Ben Cao Pharmaceutical Group Co., Ltd. initiated a voluntary recall of its Bacterial Lysate product, traded as Lan Jun Jing. This recall followed an announcement from the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) on January 18, 2016, which halted the import of this drug, manufactured by Besti Pharmaceuticals of Italy. The NMPA's directive stemmed from the product's non-compliance with China's "Quantity Management Standards," signifying a regulatory issue related to its import eligibility. As the distributor, Guangdong Ben Cao Pharmaceutical Group Co., Ltd. committed to recalling all affected Bacterial Lysate units that had cleared customs. The recall encompassed 63 distinct batches, totaling 598,764 units of the 18ml bottle specification. The company has successfully recalled all identified imported products, demonstrating compliance with the NMPA's mandate and effectively removing the non-compliant product from distribution within the market.
