China NMPA Product Recall - Disposable virus sampling tubes

Jiangsu Innova Medical Technology Co., Ltd. has initiated a voluntary Level III recall of its single-use virus sampling tubes, specifically batch number 2210820, following customer feedback. The primary issue identified is that the preservation solution within these tubes exceeded technical pH requirements, specifically beyond the upper limit of 7.6, which compromises the product's performance. The company suspects that improper transportation may have contributed to this pH alteration. This recall event is reported under the regulatory oversight of the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) and submitted to the local Provincial Food and Drug Administration.

In response, Jiangsu Innova is implementing several corrective actions. They are proactively contacting distributors and users in China to retrieve the affected product batch. Furthermore, the company is committed to strengthening its production quality management and enhancing product quality testing protocols to ensure future compliance with technical specifications. Immediate testing of products to prevent recurrence of this issue is also mandated. Finally, the company will undertake educational initiatives and disciplinary actions for personnel responsible for production and quality control.
