Kunming Lierkang Medical Supplies Co., Ltd. initiated a voluntary Level III recall of its disposable sterile medical swabs, as announced by the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) on December 4, 2017. This action followed a supervision and spot check in Yunnan Province, which identified unqualified bacteria in the sterile medical swabs (Registration No.: Dianxiezhuzhun 20162640135). The company formally reported the voluntary recall on November 30, 2017. Operating under the regulatory framework of the NMPA, responsible for medical product safety in China, the main violation was the presence of microbial contamination, compromising the product's sterility. As a required action, Kunming Lierkang Medical Supplies Co., Ltd. is recalling the affected products.
