China NMPA Product Recall - Biosafety cabinet

Thermo Fisher Scientific (Suzhou) Instruments Co., Ltd. initiated a voluntary Level III recall for its Biosafety Cabinets, as reported by the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) on September 13, 2021. The recall, overseen by the NMPA through the Jiangsu Provincial Drug Administration, stemmed from a labeling non-conformity: the production license number was missing from product labels. The company clarified that this omission does not impact the product's validity, effectiveness, or customer use, indicating an administrative rather than a safety concern. To address the issue, Thermo Fisher Scientific outlined several required actions. For products not yet shipped, the company is isolating and correcting the label errors before release for sale. Products that have been shipped but are not yet on the market will also have their labels corrected. Furthermore, for products already with end-users, the company is notifying distributors and actively cooperating with customers to complete their rectification requirements.
