FDA WARNING_LETTER - A LIFE WHOLESALE - August 07, 2025

On September 12, 2025, the FDA issued a Warning Letter to Life Wholesale, an importer located in Bronx, NY, following Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) inspections conducted on August 7, 2025, November 11, 2024, and October 10, 2023. These inspections assessed compliance with section 805 of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FD&C Act) and its implementing FSVP regulation (21 CFR part 1, subpart L).

The primary violation identified was the company"s failure to develop, maintain, and follow an FSVP for any of the foods it imports. Specifically, Life Wholesale did not have an FSVP for products such as Peanut Snack, Custard Powder (Mix), and Grounded Melon, indicating a significant failure to perform the required risk-based activities to verify imported food meets U.S. food safety standards.

The FDA requires Ms. Sharifa Abudullah, owner, to respond in writing within fifteen working days. The response must detail specific corrective actions taken, provide supporting documentation like a developed FSVP, and records demonstrating its implementation. Failure to adequately address these violations may lead to further regulatory action, including refusal of admission for imported foods or placement on detention without physical examination.
