FDA WARNING_LETTER - Hahn's Old Fashioned Cake Company, Inc. - January 14, 2014

On January 8-14, 2014, the FDA inspected Hahn's Old Fashioned Cake Company, Inc., revealing serious violations of Current Good Manufacturing Practice (21 CFR 110), causing food products to be adulterated under 21 U.S.C. § 342(a)(4). Additionally, Cranberry-Orange Pound Cake and Pumpkin Pound Cake were found adulterated (21 U.S.C. § 342(c)) and misbranded (21 U.S.C. § 343).

Violations included: 1. **Failure to maintain equipment in acceptable condition (21 CFR 110.80(b)(1)):** Inadequate cleaning of batter transfer pump components and a wooden crumb prep table, leading to potential allergen and microbial cross-contamination.
