Jjh Trading Inc – FDA Warning Letter, Mar 26, 2024

On September 11, 2024, the FDA issued a Warning Letter to JJH Trading Inc. following a Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) inspection conducted from March 11-26, 2024, at their El Monte, CA facility. A previous inspection occurred on June 17, 2021. The inspection determined non-compliance with Section 805 of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act (FD&C Act) and 21 CFR Part 1, Subpart L, which mandates importers perform risk-based activities to verify imported food meets U.S. safety standards.

The primary violation identified was the failure to develop, maintain, and follow an FSVP for any imported foods, including Broad Beans, Crushed Chili, Nut Snacks, and Dehydrated Mango Half Slices. A Form FDA 483a FSVP Observations was issued on March 26, 2024, to which no response has been received.

Failure to adequately address these violations may result in further FDA action, including refusal of admission of imported food under Section 801(a)(3) of the FD&C Act, and potential detention without physical examination (DWPE) under Import Alert #99-41.
