The FDA found that the company failed to develop and maintain a required food safety verification program for several imported products, specifically various Matcha and Green Tea items. Although the company claimed it qualified for simplified requirements as a "Very Small Importer," it failed to provide financial evidence, such as tax forms, to support this status. Additionally, the safety assurances provided for their foreign suppliers were insufficient and appeared to be internal templates rather than independent documents. To resolve these issues, Life & Food Inc. must submit a written response within 15 working days outlining their corrective actions. This response must include their completed safety program documentation and proof of their business size.
