FDA WARNING_LETTER - Swisschems - September 18, 2024

On December 10, 2024, the FDA issued a Warning Letter to Swisschems following an October 2024 review of their website (https://swisschems.is/) and social media (Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/swisschems.is/, Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/swisschemsupgraded). The FDA observed that Swisschems offers "Semaglutide" and "Retatrutide" products for sale in the United States.

The FDA determined that these products are unapproved new drugs, introduced or delivered for introduction into interstate commerce, violating sections 505(a) and 301(d) of the FD&C Act (21 U.S.C. 355(a) and 331(d)). Despite labeling them as "research chemicals only," evidence from the website and social media indicates their intended use as drugs for human consumption. Claims for Semaglutide include "Once-weekly semaglutide in adults with overweight or obesity" and "explore its role in glucose regulation, energy balance." For Retatrutide, claims include "promising anti-obesity agent" and its role in "regulating glucose levels and metabolic functions."

These products are not generally recognized as safe and effective for their intended uses, classifying them as "new drugs" under section 201(p) of the FD
