Between February 18 and February 24, 2026, the FDA conducted an inspection of The SYGMA Network"s food warehouse facility in Stockton, California. Investigators observed extensive evidence of rodent activity, including numerous gnawed holes in bags of flour, rice, and other food items, along with visible urine stains and dozens of rodent excreta pellets found directly on and around food products. Furthermore, the facility’s physical structure was poorly maintained, featuring significant gaps in roll-up doors and damaged drywall with large, exposed holes that facilitate pest entry and hinder proper cleaning. These conditions are addressed under Section 704(b) of the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act, as they indicate that food is being held under unsanitary conditions where it may become contaminated.
