China NMPA Drug Inspection - Anguo Lulutong Traditional Chinese Medicine Pieces Co., Ltd. - Chinese herbal medicine slices

The Shandong Provincial Food and Drug Administration announced on July 4, 2018 (published July 5, 2018), that 13 batches of drugs and traditional Chinese medicine decoction pieces failed quality inspections. These inspections were conducted by seven drug testing institutions, including the Taian Municipal Food and Drug Inspection and Testing Center.

Two batches of drugs from companies including Shanghai Pukang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd., and eleven batches of traditional Chinese medicine decoction pieces from companies including Anguo Putianhe Traditional Chinese Medicine Pieces Co., Ltd., were identified as substandard. The core issue was the failure to meet established quality standards.

In response, municipal food and drug administrations implemented immediate control measures, including sealing, seizing, suspending sales, and recalling the non-compliant products. Legal cases have been initiated against the responsible manufacturers and sampled units, adhering to the relevant regulatory framework governing drug quality. Moving forward, authorities are tasked with intensifying supervision, ensuring these companies investigate the root causes of the failures, develop and execute rectification plans, and effectively eliminate potential risks to public health. This action highlights a commitment to upholding stringent drug safety and quality standards.
