FDA WARNING_LETTER - RSV Pita, Inc. DBA Pita Pan Bakery - June 11, 2025

On December 18, 2025, the FDA issued a warning letter to RSV Pita, Inc., doing business as Pita Pan Bakery, following a series of inspections at its Lauderhill, Florida facility conducted between May 28 and June 11, 2025. The agency determined that the bakery’s products, including pita, bagels, and challah bread, were prepared under unsanitary conditions that violated federal food safety regulations under 21 CFR Part 117.

Major violations included a failure to clean and sanitize equipment properly, creating a high risk of allergen cross-contact—specifically involving products processed on shared equipment used for eggs without interim cleaning. Investigators also noted poor facility maintenance, such as dust accumulation on curtains, unshielded lights over food areas, and leaking ceilings. Employee hygiene was a critical concern, with reports of staff failing to wash hands, using cell phones while handling food, and lack of hair or beard covers. Furthermore, several products were found to be misbranded because labels failed to declare major allergens like wheat and sesame. Equipment design issues, such as the use of porous wood and tools repaired with plastic tape, were also cited as contamination risks.

The company is required to provide a written response within 15 working days detailing the specific corrective actions taken to address these violations. Failure to resolve these issues may result in legal action, including product seizures or the suspension of the facility"s registration.
