The agency determined that the firm is distributing unapproved and misbranded animal drugs intended for use in aquarium fish and birds. Specifically, the company marketed various antimicrobial products, including Amoxicillin, Ciprofloxacin, and Doxycycline, without the necessary FDA approvals, conditional approvals, or index listings required under the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act.

The FDA identified these products as misbranded because they were not properly listed with the agency, and the manufacturing facilities were not registered as required by law. A primary concern raised by the regulator is the marketing of medically important antimicrobials without veterinary oversight. This practice is seen as a contributor to antimicrobial resistance, which poses a public health risk to both humans and animals.

The Fish Aid is required to respond to the FDA within 15 business days, providing a written explanation of the steps taken to correct these violations and prevent their recurrence.
