Eherbs Imports, Inc., a San Diego-based company, received an FDA Warning Letter following a Foreign Supplier Verification Program (FSVP) inspection conducted from May 12 to May 20, 2026. The inspection revealed that the company failed to comply with the Federal Food, Drug, and Cosmetic Act by neglecting to develop and maintain verification programs for the foods it imports. Specifically, the FDA found that the company had no FSVP in place for products including bread, pasteurized string cheese, and amaranth candy. These regulations require importers to perform risk-based activities to ensure that foreign-produced food meets United States safety standards.
